Our Grants
Grant giving is why Elsie's Story exists.
It happens because of our team, our supporters, and our fundraisers.
ABOUT OUR GRANTS
Elsie’s Story is about remembering our beautiful Elsie and this charity is her legacy, with the grant giving process being absolutely integral to this. We have put a lot of thought into who we want to benefit from the grants we give out and how we can reach those people.
Our founding mission is:
‘To ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to create precious memories with their loved ones.’
We do this through the grant giving process.
We want our grants to make a difference to the lives of young people. We want Elsie’s kind and caring attitude to continue through the grants we give out. We want people’s lives to be enhanced because of Elsie.
We want our grants to be as accessible as possible for children and young people who may benefit from them.
We welcome applications from families, parents and guardians, schools, charities, community groups, and other organisations whose work directly supports children and young people under the age of 18.
There are criteria which must be met before a personal or community grant can be considered. It is important that this is read prior to applying as the application will be invalid if the outlined criteria are not met.
Applications should focus on benefiting children and young people and align with at least one of the following aims:
- Providing meaningful and fulfilling life experiences
- Improving access and opportunity
- Overcoming disadvantage
- Relieving suffering
The way it benefits the young person can be provided in many different ways, but it could include experiences, activities, equipment, specialist support, or projects that make a positive and lasting difference to children’s lives. You can read about previous successful applications on our previous grants page.
We support children, families, and organisations across the North West. However, applications from outside the region may also be considered but this is on a case-by-case basis, to be considered by the Trustees. If a grant will make a big difference to a young person’s life and it fits well with the aims and values of Elsie’s Story, but you are based in a different area of the country, please still consider applying or get in touch
We want to work with schools, charities, and community organisations to help bring valuable services and opportunities to children and young people. In some cases, the Elsie’s Story team may be able to meet with organisations interested in developing projects or partnerships, offering guidance and support throughout the application process and exploring opportunities to work together to deliver meaningful impact and make a difference to the lives of young people.
If you don’t feel that the funding you would like to apply for fits into the category for community or personal grant, then we are happy to advise how we may be able to take it forward. Please get in touch
