I became a Trustee of Elsie’s Story because of my very personal connection to Elsie and her family. I was extremely close friends with Elsie and her family, sharing holidays, weekends and many special memories together. Elsie was a huge part of my family life, and her beautiful, caring and kind nature left a lasting impression on me. After seeing the devastation caused by Elsie’s loss, I have always felt deeply protective of Elsie’s family, her sister, her memory and the charity created in her name.

The work of Elsie’s Story means a great deal to me, as it provides a way of helping children and their families through incredibly tough times. As a Trustee, I bring honesty, directness and practical business experience to the board. Having built and managed successful businesses, I understand the importance of making difficult decisions, managing finances responsibly and protecting the long-term future of an organisation. I see part of my role as helping to safeguard the charity, its finances and its purpose, while ensuring Elsie’s Story continues to grow in the right way.

Outside of work and charity life, I enjoy spending time with my family, all aspects of business, boxing, karate and, more recently, taking up tennis again. Although I joke that I may be too young to admit it, I have also discovered a real enjoyment for gardening – possibly a sign of getting older!
